Police have released a man arrested in connection with a string of sex attacks on women in Whitstable.

Detectives confirmed the 46-year-old, from Whitstable, will face no charges after he was quizzed in August.

At the time of the arrest, seven assaults were reported with crimes ranging from indecent exposure to sexual assault.

Most of the incidents took place on the Crab and Winkle Way leading police to beef up patrols while urging women to avoid the area.

Two further attacks were recorded since the man was questioned.

Investigators have assured the public they are still pursuing their inquiries.

DI Richard Vickery said: "Officers are continuing to explore a number of lines of investigation following reports of incidents in Whitstable, and patrols of the areas are carried out on a regular basis.

"No further incidents have been reported since September 14."

In response to the attacks, the KM Group posted a £500 reward for information leading directly to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.

Should that apply to more than one person, the reward will be shared.
