A popular seafront boozer has been forced to shut ahead of what was likely to be a busy weekend - after staff tested positive for Covid.
The Old Neptune, Whitstable, announced it has closed its doors for eight days following the outbreak.
In a post on the pub's Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon, it states: "Hi everyone it is with deep regret that we have to close our doors for eight days.
"We have had a small outbreak amongst some of our staff and need to nip it in the bud.
"Apologies for plans that may be ruined but will be back up and going next Thursday."
The famous watering hole, dubbed 'The Neppy' by locals, is one of only a handful of pubs on the beaches of the UK.
Sushine is forecast in Whitstable this weekend with temperatures peaking at 27°C on Sunday afternoon.
