Children at Joy Lane Primary School in Whitstable have been told to stay at home until at least Tuesday, December 1.
The school contacted parents today telling them that "after much reflection and careful analysis" it was the best thing to do.
Not only have the pupils been hit by Covid - with six cases confirmed - but there are also cases among the staff and parents.
The school said it currently had 40 staff members away, either sick or self-isolating, and as a result it was not safe to keep the school open.
Joy Lane joins a growing number of schools across the county who are closing their doors.
