A woman has been arrested after members of the public reported her walking along the track near a Kent station this afternoon.
It resulted in trains along the route being delayed and some services potentially cancelled.
British Transport Police say they were alerted to the incident at Whitstable station and attended with local officers who apprehended the woman and took her into custody.
It is not yet know why she was on the track.
Southeastern tweeted that trespassers had been removed from the line and it was working to get trains back on time although the timetable may be revised and some services cancelled.
