A sex-crazed love rat has been convicted of raping a woman unconscious on alcohol at her home in Herne Bay.

A jury took an hour and 15 minutes to find Haider Ali guilty after he argued the victim had plotted against him because "there is something wrong in her head".

Judge Catherine Brown told Ali: "You have been found guilty of three very serious offences - a lengthy period of custody is inevitable."

Married Ali was drunk, high on cocaine and viagra when he attacked the intoxicated woman in her sleep, the trial heard.

She passed out during a drinking binge at her Herne Bay home, then woke as Ali raped her.

After kicking him out she would go on to send him two texts: “Why did you do that?” and “I woke up naked why? I told you 'no' Ali.”

The 30-year-old whipped himself into a sexual frenzy in the hours leading to the attack in April, the jury heard.

He became embroiled in graphic internet conversations with two men, who he arranged to meet in Herne Bay for sex, but trained his sights on the victim when plans colapsed.

The predator sought out the woman at around midnight - they would drink vodka into the early hours before she blacked out.

During the session she texted a friend complaining Ali was sat in the same room watching porn.

Then she caught camera footage of some of his sexual advances, which she refused.

“The defendant went over to where she was and began to kiss her.

“The victim stirred and pushed the defendant away, before falling back to sleep,” prosecutor Daniel Stevenson explained.

When she next woke, Ali was reportedly groping her which she refused.

She next regained consciousness with Ali raping her during the April attack, the barrister told the jury.

“After a few minutes the victim came to and she became fully awake.

“She went into the kitchen and challenged the defendant, who denied that anything had happened.

“He suggested that she must have got undressed in her sleep, and that she had dreamt it," he said.

Judge Brown heard the pair had drunk a significant amount of alcohol and Ali, of St Andrews Close, Whitstable, was high on cocaine before the assault.

After his arrest Ali denied sexual contact with his victim and was released under police investigation.

But when DNA evidence emerged of Ali’s semen around her vagina, he admitted his first interview was a lie.

He told police there had been intercourse, denied rape, and claimed he lied to protect his other relationships - including his marriage.

He also claimed the victim framed him for rape, the jury heard.

"There is something wrong with her head," he told officers during interview.

But Mr Stevenson picked apart Ali’s web of deceit in cross-examination, and branded him “an accomplished liar.”

His closing speech honed in on the apparent ease with which Ali gave a detailed, complex, but false account to detectives.

Ali, represented by Kieran Brand, was unanimously found guilty of rape and two counts of sexual assault.

He will be sentenced at the same court on September 20.
