Sinkhole in Swanfield Road, Whitstable, prompts Kent County Council investigation

A sinkhole has opened in a residential road prompting alarm from residents.
Kent County Council has launched an investigation after the hazard was spotted in Swanfield Road in Whitstable yesterday.
Claire Goddard, who photographed the crater, said: "It doesn't look safe."
The hole was reported to Kent County Council.
Spokesman Thom Morris said: "It was reported to us today and the highway steward has visited site to investigate.
"The area has been barriered off to allow us to investigate, and repairs will be made as soon as possible."
