Spate of eight burglaries in Whitstable in less than three weeks

Police are investigating after eight burglaries were reported within three weeks.

Officers received reports of the incidents in Whitstable between Friday, May 12 and Friday, June 2.

Cash and jewellery were among the items stolen.

The first happened on Friday, May 12 between 7.45am and 4.40pm in Bennells Avenue. Cash and jewellery were stolen.

A second saw cash taken from a home in St Swithin’s Road, Tankerton on Wednesday, May 17 between 11.15am and 12.30pm.

Cash and jewellery were reported stolen on the same day a few roads down in Newton Road between 11.30am and 12.45pm.

Between Monday, May 5 and Sunday, May 21 burglars attempted to gain entry to a property in Kingsley Road.

The fifth burglary happened between 7.30am and 3.18pm in Joy Lane on Thursday, June 1 where cash and jewellery were taken.

Between 1pm and 2.30pm a safe was stolen from a house in Genesta Avenue, off Joy Lane on Friday, June 2.

On the same day nothing was reported stolen from a property in Swalecliffe Road between 10am and 12.45pm.

A third burglary was reported last Friday in St John’s Road between 8.50am and 5.45pm where jewellery and a camera were stolen.
