Two women assaulted in Beefeater car park in Old Thanet Way, Whitstable

Two women were assaulted and threatened in a Whitstable car park.
Police are appealing for witnesses to a disturbance which happened at the Beefeater car park in Old Thanet Way, between 8.45pm and 9.10pm, last Monday.
During the incident, near the Borstal Hill roundabout, and which involved a group of people known to each other, two women who were assaulted and threats made towards them.
Following enquiries, a 39-year-old man from Dover and a 35-year-old woman from Canterbury were arrested on suspicion of assault and affray.
They were released on bail until October 13 while inquiries continue.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Officers would like to thank all those who came forward with information at the scene and are appealing for anyone else who saw the incident and has not yet spoken to police, to get in touch.”
It is understood one of the women required treatment from paramedics but no serious injuries were reported.
