This is the dramatic moment a car burst into flames outside a branch of KFC.

The incident happened tonight at the fast-food restaurant in Chestfield, Whitstable.

The drama was captured by Kieran Cusden, who posted the footage on Facebook.

The two minute video shows flames leaping from the engine and fire crews arriving at the Thanet Way drive-thru.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, which caused severe damage to the vehicle.

They were called to the scene just after 6pm and managed to put out the fire by 6.30pm.

Smoke and flames were seen coming from the engine and the fire is thought to have been caused by a fault connected to the fuel supply.

Two fire engines were called out and crews used a thermal imaging camera to help with the operation.

Nobody is thought to have been injured in the incident.
