Heartless thieves offered to clean a vulnerable pensioner's gutters for £15 – then swiped £3,000 from her bedroom.
The 84-year-old woman alerted police after realising the cash was missing from her home in Sandpiper Road, Whitstable.
Two men knocked at her door between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on March 14 and offered to clean her gutters. After completing the work, they said her roof was damaged and could be fixed for £450.
When that job was finished, one of the men asked to use her toilet - but he was found by the victim in her bedroom, where he stole the £3,000.
The woman worked with police to create an e-fit image of the man, which police hope will help catch the thieves.
Anyone who recognises the man or has information is asked to phone PC Clive Horne on 01843 222040 - quoting crime report ZY/8385/14 - or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
