CCTV issued after woman and child confronted in Cromwell Road, Whitstable by aggressive and abusive man

A woman and a girl were reportedly confronted by an abusive man in the street.

An image of a suspect police wish to trace after the public order offence in Whitstable has now been issued.

It was reported the victims were approached by an unknown man who was behaving aggressively and was verbally abusive.

He then made an inappropriate gesture towards them before they could leave the area without more trouble.

Police have not revealed further details about the nature of the incident.

The offence is reported to have taken place at 8.20am on Wednesday, May 1 in Cromwell Road between Regent Street and Railway Avenue.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers investigating the incident have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify, as he may have information which could assist inquiries.”
