A woman has died after being discovered seriously injured next to a tower block.
A number of patrol cars, ambulances and fire engines were sent to Windsor House in Whitstable at 11.25am.
The communal garden area to the rear of the council-owned building was taped off while investigations were carried out.
Residents of the building - wearing protective face masks - could be seen speaking with officers in the reception area.
Police confirmed just after 5pm that the woman, aged in her 60s, had died.
The woman's death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
It has not yet been revealed how she was injured.
Her next of kin have been informed.
One eyewitness earlier told KentOnline: "Police officers are inside Windsor House.
"The garden to the rear has been taped off."
Canterbury MP Rosie Duffield said it was "dreadful news" as she revealed that her team has been in contact with residents from the high-rise block.
"[I'm] shocked to hear about this terrible incident in my constituency," she added.
