A man has been found dead in a burning garden shed near Whitstable this morning.
The body of the man, believed to be in his late 70s, was discovered by fire crews in Yorkletts.
Police said he is thought to have lived at the property and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Fire crews were called to the home, in Dargate Road, at about 8.35am to reports a shed was alight.
Around 15 firefighters used a hose reel jet and main jet to tackle the blaze. The man's body was then found.
Police said officers were called to the scene by fire crews at about 8.50am.
Spokesman Jon Greene said: "The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage."
He added forensic experts are going to the scene along with fire experts in a bid to establish the cause of the blaze.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky for miles, including by motorists on the Thanet Way.
Several fire engines, police cars and an ambulance were spotted at the scene.
The road was closed by emergency services from Fox's Cross Hill and Highstreet Road.
