Canterbury Rugby Club head coach Andy Pratt says his players can't relax just because they are not expected to win away to leaders Henley

Andy Pratt says Canterbury cannot afford to relax, despite there being little pressure on them to win away at National 2 South leaders Henley on Saturday.

Canterbury returned to winning ways with a crucial 31-14 bonus-point win over bottom side Dings Crusaders at Merton Lane last weekend which took the city club 10 points clear of the bottom-three with eight games remaining, though the next two are against the top-two, starting at Henley on Saturday (3pm).

Head coach Pratt said: “It was just a case of getting the job done. Dings played some good stuff, they caused us trouble and were a testament to the league. We got what we needed though, which was a win and a bonus point.

“Lydney and Southend (the two teams below Canterbury) still have games in hand though so Andy Pratt’s version of the table is even tighter than the real one.”

Henley won 30-29 at Canterbury in November, just one of a number of opportunities for points missed by the city club.

Pratt added: “We’ve missed a few bonus points along the way, there have been a few games where we’ve only scored three tries and more still where we were a kick away from a losing bonus point.

“Not many teams have come away from Henley with anything this season, so that would be a result if we could do that. It’s a different type of pressure we’re under than last week, when we had expectation on us, this time we’re away at the team in first.

"We can’t go in relaxed, they have a lot more strengths than weaknesses, we’ll have to execute and want it more than them.”

Tom Rogers (hamstring) is doubtful while Tom Sherson misses the first of three games as he has returned to New Zealand for personal reasons
