Southern Counties East League round-up: Leaders VCD win again, with victories for Faversham Town, Tunbridge Wells and Larkfield & New Hythe

Surprise leaders VCD Athletic continue to set the pace in the Southern Counties East Premier Division.

Charlie Heatley scored the only goal of the game with 16 minutes left as VCD won 1-0 at Whitstable.

Holmesdale sit second, albeit having played more games than the teams around them, after a 1-0 success at Corinthian thanks to Jack Church’s 72nd-minute goal.

Ryan Hayes opened his account for Punjab United, who remain unbeaten after a 1-1 draw at home to Lordswood. Brad Schafer had opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half.

Faversham eased to a 4-0 home success over Erith & Belvedere. Kieran Campbell set them on their way after just two minutes with Sam Hasler, Tashi-Jay Kwayie and Frannie Colling completing their tally.

James Rogers put Lydd ahead at Fisher but Armani-Jordan Martin equalised in stoppage-time from the penalty spot.

Second-half goals from Jack Gibbons and a Charles Yiadom-Konadu double saw Fisher run out 4-1 winners.

Tunbridge Wells are up to fifth after a 3-1 home win over 10-man Snodland.

Jack Gallagher put Wells ahead but Kaelem Sobhee-Turner levelled within three minutes.

Goals either side of half-time by Jack Walder and Festos Kamara put Wells in control while Snodland had Junior Pepin sent off with 20 minutes left.

Stansfeld moved off the bottom of the table after a comeback win over Hollands & Blair.

Harvey Welford and Charlie Sheringham put visitors Blair 2-0 ahead inside the first half-hour.

But Jack Mahon and Charis Alhassan made it 2-2 by half-time and Kameron Mendez scored the winner midway through the second half.

All the goals came in a five-minute period before half-time as Larkfield beat Sutton Athletic 2-1.

Josh Jackson and Jack Clark netted for unbeaten Larks while Elias Ahmed had equalised for the visitors who dropped to the foot of the division.

Substitute Kinsey Gatakata scored a stoppage-time winner for Kennington against Rusthall.

Lewis Godden’s 11th-minute goal for Ton had been cancelled out by Daniel Blunn with seven minutes left at Homelands.

In Division 1, there were wins for leaders Croydon, Canterbury and Rochester who now occupy the top three slots.

A crowd of 383 saw Forest Hill win their derby at Lewisham, Jake Rose scoring the winner early in the second half.
