Tony Burman has banned title talk in the Dartford changing-room.

Darts go to East Thurrock tonight (Tuesday) knowing a win would take them three points clear at the top of National League South with two games left.

They're so close to automatic promotion but boss Burman doesn't even want that discussed.

He said: "We've actually thoroughly spoken about it all since the Poole game (which Dartford lost at home on March 10).

"I've banned anything else being said. I don't want anything else being said in there.

"You don't win anything until you win your games and we've got three to go now.

"We're in a real good place. I'll tell you now, the group are really together and they're believing.

"They've worked really hard all season and that work now has got to be carried out in the right manner.

"Also, the supporters are behind them and there's a feelgood factor, which is nice, but all we do is take it into the next game.

"The most important thing now is Tuesday night's game and nothing else after that.

East Thurrock will finish in mid-table but with characters like Lee Burns, James White and Max Cornhill in their side, Dartford can expect a battle in Essex.

Burman said: "We hope to go there and get three points but we know it's going to be difficult.

"I've got a lot of ex-players playing for East Thurrock who, as much as we like them and they like us, that's what they're made of. They won't make things easy and I wouldn't want it any other way.

"We've got to go there and perform in the way we we have been over the last six games and hopefully get the support as well."

Six straight wins have edged Dartford back in front of Havant & Waterlooville on goal-difference.

Hawks don't play again until Saturday and Burman knows Dartford's mentality is key if they really want to apply the pressure.

"It's massively about what's inside (your head)," he said. "The players are believing and when that happens, it's such a good feeling.

"It's what we want to happen but unless you win your next three games, it's probably not going to happen.

"I'm not interested in what anyone around us has done, we've just got to do what we can do ourselves."
