A major road in Kent was closed in both directions overnight due to a “technology fault” – but all lanes have reopened.
Both carriageways of the Roundhill Tunnel on the A20, between Dover and Folkestone, were shut for more than eight hours while emergency roadworks were carried out.
The fault was found at about 10.30pm last night and a specialist engineer was sent out to make an assessment.
National Highways had said the tunnel was expected to remain closed into the morning rush hour period.
But at 6.52am it tweeted that all lanes have reopened.
