Joe Chuter appears in court accused of murdering Ronald Smith in Gravesend

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of another man in Gravesend.
Joe Chuter, 28, appeared before magistrates in Medway this morning after being charged with the murder of a 31-year-old man who was found injured in St Patrick's Gardens, on Saturday night.
The victim, named as Ronald Smith and from the Cranbrook area, was found with head and stomach wounds at about 8pm.
He was taken to a London hospital for treatment, but died on Sunday morning.
Formal identification of the victim has not yet taken place, but police charged Chuter of Taunton Vale, Gravesend, with murder on Monday.
He appeared before magistrates this morning via virtual link and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday.
