Police sealed off an alleyway in Gillingham earlier today after a woman was sexually assaulted there during the early hours of Sunday, August 3.
Police initially said an assault happened there and officers refused to say what exactly happened.
However, a police spokesman later confirmed a woman, who is believed to be from the town, has reported she was sexually assaulted there.
Two Police Community Support Officers were standing guard at either end of the alleyway in Duncan Road, for most of today, but the incident happened between 3am and 6am on Sunday.
Police confirmed they were carrying out investigations in the area, but as yet they had made no arrests.
