Tracy Bullock elected first female chair at Medway Rugby Club

Medway Rugby Club have appointed their first female chair ahead of their 90th season.
Tracy Bullock was unanimously voted into the role during the club’s general meeting.
A statement from the club said: “Over the past few years Tracy has been the club treasurer and has successfully navigated the club through some challenging times, and her relentless hard work has put us in a really strong financial position for the future.”
She has been involved at Medway RFC for well over a decade, with both her sons playing through the minis, youth and into the senior squads.
During the general meeting the club announced that they are in a strong position financially despite the lack of activities during the Covid pandemic.
Outgoing chairman Mo O’Brien spoke about the amazing internal transformation that he has overseen over the past two years. The club has transformed itself over the years, thanks to the hard work, support and generosity of all its dedicated members and volunteers.
There has been plenty going on behind the scenes with the club looking forward to seeing members and visitors enjoying a drink at the new bar. There is also a new kitchen and new ladies washrooms.
Bullock said: “We just can’t wait to play some rugby.”
Medway’s 1st XV begin their season on September 4 at home to KCS Old Boys and before that they have a series of friendly matches lined up.
On Saturday they are away to Deal Betteshanger Lions. They have scheduled home games against Tunbridge Wells (August 14) and Sidcup (August 18) and a trip to Gravesend on August 25.
