Petrol station to undergo refit
13:27, 23 January 2012
One of the Island's three petrol stations is closing for up to four months.
The BP garage at Queenborough Corner shut from 7am on Sunday for a complete refit.
The shop will be knocked down and rebuilt slightly bigger and a new jet wash system will be installed.
Manager Carolyn Newman said the project to update the site could take up to 16 weeks.
She said: "We have not had a refit here since the late 90s so we are long overdue."
The 16 staff will undergo training or work at other garages during the closure.
