11:50, 04 October 2016
Kent Police has issued a warning after a spate of purse thefts.
Shoppers in Tunbridge Wells were targeted twice on Friday.
They found that their purses had been removed from their bags in the town centre.
Officers are reminding people to be vigilant while they continue investigations into these reports.
They advise that handbags should remain fastened and be held in front of the body, where they can be easily seen.
People who carry purses or wallets in pockets should also use their front pockets or an inside pocket of a jacket if possible.
Any incidents should be reported to Kent Police on 101.
