The midwives of Poplar may not be back on our TV screens yet, but you can catch up with the community around Nonnatus House from this weekend when the Call the Midwife location tours return.

The popular BBC primetime show was launched back in 2012 and is filmed on location at Chatham as well as at the TV studios.

The tours, which take place where scenes from the show are filmed are back at the dockyard from Saturday, August 1. Run in conjunction with production company Neal Street productions, the new-look tours were launched just over two years ago.

Running until Saturday, October 24, there are some changes to the experience to allow for the current crisis.

Tour numbers have been reduced from 25 to 12, and guides will wear face visors and use a voice projector.

There is also a one way system within the Call the Midwife gallery and there are also pre-booked arrival times to allow for safe managed queuing at the visitor entrance.

Despite the safety changes, visitors can still walk in the footsteps of Nurse Trixie Franklin, Sister Julienne and Dr Turner and see where the drama happens and the familiar doorways and building frontages used in the show.
