A children’s dance show will come leaping and swirling onto stage this weekend.
With a quirky urban soundtrack, the Magic Paintbrush tells the tale of a young girl living in a grey, colourless world, given a paintbrush that magically brings paintings to life.
As she paints, her drawings appear on the surfaces of the theatre where they wiggle to life before floating out in 3D form.
Based on Chinese folklore, the Magic Paintbrush was originally a book released by Julia Donaldson.
Director Nathan Stickley said: “The Magic Paintbrush is a modern retelling of an old folk tale – a girl who is given a magic paintbrush brings joy and hope to a bleak world.
"We’ve created an imaginative production that keeps on inspiring both children and adults long after coming to see the show.”
The show is suitable for ages three and up.
The Magic Paintbrush will be at the Marlowe Studio, Canterbury at 11.30am and 2.30pm, on Saturday, January 14.
